2025 Rodeo Lineup is Complete – Here are Our Picks to Win

The 2025 Calgary Stampede Rodeo is set to deliver an unforgettable 10 days of action, featuring a powerhouse lineup of 210 elite athletes from around the world. This year’s roster, now officially confirmed, marks a historic debut for Ladies Breakaway Roping as a main event and boasts a thrilling mix of returning champions, rising stars, and top-tier competitors across all rodeo disciplines. With a record-breaking prize pool and daily performances at GMC Stadium, the stage is ready for heart-pounding rides, lightning-fast runs, and the kind of excitement that has made the Calgary Stampede a global icon.

Tie-Down Roping: Riley Webb, two-time World Champion, is the one to beat, but past champions Shad Mayfield, and Tuf Cooper, plus 2024 Stampede Champion Haven Meged, are formidable.

Our Pick: Riley Webb – Ride’m till he bucks you! 2023 World Champion. 2024 World Champion. 2025 RodeoHouston Champion. Yeah, we’re not betting against Riley.

Steer Wrestling: Tucker Allen is running away with the money this year and is World #1. J.D. Struxness, has not had a great season thus far, but is the 2024 World Champion, so don’t sleep on him. Five-time World Champion Tyler Waguespack and perennial contender Will Lummus are strong challengers.

Our Pick: Ty Erickson – Currently ranked 24th in the World, but he didn’t compete most of April and May. Ty almost won Houston this year, and he’s the defending Stampede Champion. We’re choosing him to get back in the saddle and get off it in about 4.5 seconds to go back-to-back at Stampede!

Bareback Riding: The 2025 Championship Leader, Bradlee Miller will be most people’s favourite. Dean Thompson, the 2024 World Champion, is a strong favourite. Rocker Steiner and Canadian Orin Larsen and defending Stampede Champion, R.C. Landingham are always in the mix for big rides.

Our Pick: Dean Thompson – He is currently ranked #3, but he’s heating up at the right time. Dean won RodeoHouston this year, so he knows how to get it done when the lights are the brightest!

Ladies Barrel Racing: Kassie Mowry, the 2024 World Champion, is dominating this years circuit. Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi coming in a strong second. Four-time World Champion Hailey Kinsel and the newly qualified quartet (Ellis, Cherry, Neudorff, Urbanek-Wade) are serious threats.

Our Pick: Hailey Kinsel – 14.57 in Houston. Four-time World Champion. She’s our cowgirl.

Saddle Bronc Riding: Kade Bruno, the 2024 Stampede Champion, is favoured, but watch for 2024 runner-up World Champion Damian Brennan and the Hay brothers, Logan and Dawson, alongside Ben Andersen.

Our Pick: Dawson Hay – World #2 currently, and he’s put up some monster numbers this season. He’s also an Alberta boy who will have the crowd behind him. Yes, we’re biased. No we don’t care. We’re all in on Dawson to bring home the Championship Buckle.

Ladies Breakaway Roping: Kelsie Domer, is the reigning World Champion. She is not having a great season, but knows how to win. Taylor Munsell has to be the favourite to win. She’s dominating the standings currently. Her toughest competition should be , 2023 World Champion Shelby Boisjoli-Meged, rising star Josie Conner, and Joey Williams, who is having a season! Breakaway Roping is making their debut on the big stage, and they have brought the big guns, making this event especially competitive.

Our Pick: Joey Williams – While Munsell will be most people’s pick as she’s almost doubled the field in money, we’re going with Williams. Joey has only competed in the half the events, but she’s averaged more money than Munsell. It has been a very tidy year that could become huge!

Bull Riding: Wacey Schalla, the 19-year-old leading the 2025 world standings, is on a hot streak, but T.J. Gray, Tristen Hutchings, and four-time Canadian Champion Dakota Buttar are all capable of taking the title.

Our Pick: Wacey Schalla – We’ve picked some dark horses in this year’s Rodeo, but this is not the time for that. Wacey is 19 and has 8 wins already this year. This boy is taking our Championship buckle home to Oklahoma with him.
