Team Cattle Penning Championships
EVENT BIO
The Team Cattle Penning Championships at the Calgary Stampede are a high-speed showdown of strategy, skill, and teamwork—held in the Nutrien Western Event Centre. In this adrenaline-packed event, teams of three riders have just 60 seconds to cut three specifically numbered cattle from a herd of 30 and guide them into a small pen on the opposite end of the arena.
With precision riding and fast thinking, the top 20 teams in each of four divisions—based on skill and experience—compete for championship buckles. It’s a thrilling race against the clock where harmony between horse, rider, and teammates is the ultimate key to victory.
