The Calgary Stampede is proud to present De La Soul on Big Four Roadhouse Stage.   De La Soul are true pioneers of alternative hip-hop, reshaping the genre with their 1989 debut 3 Feet High and Rising. With its playful lyricism, eclectic samples, and genre-bending style, the album stood in stark contrast to the dominant sounds of the time and laid the groundwork for a new era of creative expression in rap.

From the satirical De La Soul Is Dead to the socially conscious Stakes Is High, the trio consistently pushed boundaries and inspired generations. After a long hiatus, they returned in 2016 with the fan-funded And the Anonymous Nobody, and in 2023, they finally reclaimed their catalog—bringing their groundbreaking work to streaming platforms and solidifying their status as legends in hip-hop history.
