A cornerstone of youth agriculture at the Calgary Stampede, the Junior Steer Classic showcases the hard work and dedication of competitors aged 9 to 21. Held at the Nutrien Western Event Centre, this prestigious livestock event not only offers cash prizes but also contributes to the future of agriculture by awarding scholarships to young participants.

Competitors present their expertly groomed steers before judges, with the Grand and Reserve Champion Steers sold at auction following the competition. Proceeds from the sale go directly to the Junior Steer Classic Scholarship Fund, supporting the next generation of agriculture leaders and advocates.
