ARTIST BIO

The Calgary Stampede is proud to present MJ Lendermann and Jason Isbell on  the Big Four Roadhouse.  MJ Lendermann is an Asheville-based singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his raw, fuzz-soaked sound and emotionally charged songwriting. Blending alt-country grit with lo-fi indie rock, his music draws comparisons to artists like Neil Young and Sparklehorse, while carving a lane that’s entirely his own.

A member of Wednesday’s live band and a solo force in his own right, Lendermann broke out with his 2022 album Boat Songs, earning critical acclaim for its mix of heartache, humor, and distortion. With unfiltered lyrics and a guitar tone that hits like a punch to the gut, he’s quickly become a standout voice in the indie alt-country scene.
