- Tips: Arrive early to secure a good spot, as it’s a popular location. You cannot drive up there during Stampede. Walk from the Grounds beforehand.
2. The Evening Show – Stampede Grounds
- Why It’s Great: If you’re already on the grounds, stay for the full experience! The fireworks are coordinated with music, and the atmosphere is electric.
- Tips: The Evening Show concludes with the fireworks, making it a prime location to watch.
3. The SuperWheel – Stampede Grounds
- Why It’s Great: If you time it right, you get to watch the show from the privacy of your own pod, up in the sky, on the grounds.
- Tips: Check out the line and ask the people at the front how long it took them to attempt to time it right. Fireworks begin at 11pm.
4. Crescent Heights Lookout
- Why It’s Great: This spot offers a breathtaking view of Calgary’s skyline, making the fireworks even more picturesque.
- Tips: It’s less crowded than Scotsman’s Hill but equally scenic.
5. Tom Campbell’s Hill
- Why It’s Great: Slightly off the beaten path, this spot provides a quieter atmosphere with a clear view of the downtown core and fireworks.
- Tips: Bring a blanket and enjoy the relaxed ambiance.
7. Max Bell Centre Parking Lot
- Why It’s Great: A lesser-known spot with a clear line of sight to the fireworks.
- Tips: Drive in and enjoy from your vehicle or set up a chair outside.
8. Valleyview Park Viewpoint
- Why It’s Great: Another lesser-known spot up on a hill overlooking the downtown.
- Tips: The viewpoint is long. Go to the area around 26 Ave SE and 26 St SE.

- Timing: The fireworks usually start around 11:00 PM, so plan your arrival with enough time to settle in.
- Transportation: Use public transit where possible, as parking can be limited near popular spots.
- Bring Essentials: Pack chairs, blankets, snacks, and bug spray for comfort.
